Welcome to Sinfully Sassy Sundays at Taboo II: Kisses After Dark. I’m The Vixen, your guide to all things sinful, sassy, naughty and oh sooooo taboo. This week’s discussion focuses on appearances. How do you like our new home? I couldn’t be happier to be here with Lia and Tony celebrating the relocation of both House of Taboo and Taboo II. It’s been a lot of fun decorating the place. Let us know if you’d like to see anything or change things. We’d love to hear from you!

DRESSING THE PART OF A SUBMISSIVE

I’ve had people say to me that I don’t look like someone who would write erotica or erotic romance. The next thing out of their mouths is that I couldn’t possibly know anything about BDSM because don’t look the type. They assume I’m a “good girl” and wouldn’t be interested in all that kink.

Cue the maniacal laughter

In my case, appearances are most definitely deceiving, but how can you tell if someone is a submissive (or a Dominant)? Some folks may want to have completely separate “personas” and give off different vibes in public and in private. Others want to have some form of signal such as a tattoo, piercing, jewelry/collar or other article of clothing that lets others in the lifestyle know what they’re interested in.

It’s particularly impsubmissive jewelryortant when you’re in a group or any BDSM event. If you’re with a partner, you would want to make it clear you’re already involved and not available. Collars are a pretty good clue to others you’re off limits. They can be decorative and understated…

For Submissives Only: How to Signify That You’re a Submissive when you Look Like a Dominant!

As with everything in the world of BDSM, how you make your orientation known is completely up to you. As a submissive, YOU have all control. A Dom/Domme has no power over you unless you choose to give it to them. YOU set the limits and a loving, caring partner will always honor them. Another rule to keep in mind is that your kink isn’t the same as mine. It’s up to us to find what works for us and not necessarily what’s the “in” thing.
